HeliCoil Electric & Pneumatic Power Tools

The HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tool from Emhart Technologies speeds up installation speed 
& assembly, eliminates waste, and permits an accurate count of HeliCoil inserts. It allows for 
rapid installation of both HeliCoil standard free running and screw-lock inserts. 

The HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tool can be adapted to assembly stations, rotary tables, and 
transfer lines. It can be hand held, vertically or horizontally mounted, and adapted to both 
semi-automatic and fully automatic installation stations.

The HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tool comprises of:

•  Front end assembly (prewinder, mandrel, and spacer sets) 

HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tools are available in UNC and UNF sizes from 2-56 to 1/2" and
in metric sizes up to 12mm.

Where electric power is preferred over air, Emhart Technologies offers the HeliCoil Electric 
Power Tool. The HeliCoil Electric Power Tool meets the requirements of clean room 
operations and operators also prefer electric power because it is quieter. The tool is light and 
the slender configuration of the mandrels allows users to reach into constricted areas. 

For perfect angle alignment and support of the HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tool, the HeliCoil
Power Tool Holder is highly recommended. The HeliCoil Power Tool Holder can be used with 
or without HeliCoil strip feed inserts and is recommended for use with sizes UNC 2-56 & M2.2 
& M2.5 as the small sizes of these HeliCoil inserts make manual handling difficult. 

The HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tool Holder is mounted onto a bench and the appropriate 
air motor is attached to a spring loaded air tube at the  end of a movable arm. A mounting 
arm is also provided for attaching reels of HeliCoil strip feed inserts. This power tool holder 
configuration ensures accurate vertical (square to work surface) installation of HeliCoil 
inserts in relatively large parts. 

The HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tool Holder is capable of installing HeliCoil screw thread inserts 
within a radius of 23.5 inches and on planes differing by 3.5 inches.

For high volume production, HeliCoil inserts can be supplied in reels of plastic tape known as 
HeliCoil Strip Feed Inserts. When used with the HeliCoil Pneumatic Power Tool, HeliCoil Strip 
Feed Inserts speed up assembly, eliminates cumbersome manual handling of each HeliCoil 
insert, eliminates incidents of dropped inserts, and facilitates counting of inserts. However, 
HeliCoil Strip Feed Inserts can also be installed using HeliCoil Hand Installation Tools. 


The HeliCoil inserts are held securely in the reels of plastic tape and the insert is positioned 
properly for installation each and every time. Hence there is no time wasted on manual 
positioning of the HeliCoil inserts.  

The HeliCoil Cordless Electric Power Tool is a complete installation kit that includes a
driver, 2 batteries, 15 minute charger, and HeliCoil mandrels all in a durable metal box. 

The HeliCoil Cordless Electric Power Tool is portable, lightweight, has adjustable torque,
and uses standard HeliCoil Electric Power Tool installation mandrels for quick setup.
